Our name is derived from our native Yoruba language. Although anglicized, 'Ajartodar' when pronounced comes out as a Yoruba sentence that translates as 'A Dog That Is Good'. Many of our dogs have been given Yoruba names; while some others bear names from other indigenous Nigerian tribes.

While we certainly do not have a proprietry legal interest in the Yoruba language, we clearly detach ourselves from any dog breeder in Nigeria or anywhere else in the world who has decided to copy the concept behind our kennel nomenclature in one form or the other.

As pioneers in Nigeria, we are almost flattered, but insist that their dogs or breeding program should not be confused with ours.
